It was a fun and exhilarating experience doing the talk and demo, especially with 'stray cat' on stage.

Today, Scribble Media stood in the spotlight at the ‘Made in CDO’ event, and what an exhilarating experience it was! This platform brought together the best of the local creative industry, allowing us to share the heart and soul of our craft with an audience eager to witness the magic behind storytelling and animation.

What made this event particularly special was our presentation with none other than Bianca Ocier, aka Stray Cat, where we unpacked the question: Why does animation matter? Our talk and demo, while impromptu in delivery, were meticulously prepared—like assembling the final piece of an intricate puzzle.

The response we received from the audience was overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming why we do what we do at Scribble Media. This moment was more than just a presentation; it was a celebration of the art and science of storytelling.

Why Animation Matters

So, why does animation matter?

The simple answer lies in storytelling—a universal language that connects us all. But the deeper truth is that animation is more than just moving images or colorful characters.

At the event, we had the privilege of demonstrating our animation pipeline—the step-by-step process that transforms a mere idea into a fully realized animation. Here’s how we broke it down during the demo:

Pre-Production:
- Storyboarding: This is where the magic begins. Every great animation starts as a series of rough sketches outlining the sequence of events. It’s here that we answer the question: What story are we telling?
- Character and Environment Design: Building the world and its inhabitants, down to the smallest details.
Production:
- Animation: Bringing characters to life frame by frame, ensuring every movement aligns with the story's emotional beats.
- Voiceovers and Sound Design: Adding depth and dimension through voices, music, and sound effects.
Post-Production:
- Editing and Effects: Finalizing every scene to ensure it’s polished, cohesive, and ready to captivate the audience.

During our presentation, Bianca and I took the audience through these steps with playful, back-and-forth banter that lightened the mood while showcasing the intricacies of the process. It wasn’t just about showing them how we work; it was about letting them feel the heart and soul we pour into every project.

As the final demo animation played on the screen, the audience's reaction reminded us of why we push through challenges, long hours, and creative hurdles. Their excitement was our reward.
